Arie in Brazil

Hello everybody, my greetings from far-away Brazil! I'm in Brazil to work on my Ph.D for half a year. In the mean time I bathe a bit in the sunlight, while you are having bad weather in Europe ;)

I took this picture in Madrid, while I was waiting to board the intercontinental plane to Brazil. I had a bit of mixed feelings at that point, because after boarding this plane, there would be no way back.

In Brazil, my current hostess and colleague Lucilia was waiting in front of her apartment.

One of the dogs was greeting me.

This is a view from one of the corridors of the university. Since it is never really cold here and never excessively hot, the rooms are connected by corridors in the open air. This seems a typical architecture that I also see in normal buildings.

Me in one of the labs here. The tables are a bit low, but fortunately, this lab has at least chairs with a cushion (unlike some of the others). Guess were are a bit spoiled if I compare offices in Utrecht with the labs here ;)

Nice! But where are the action shots: Arie at the beach, Arie climbing mountains, Aria playing football, and so forth?

Not everything at the same time ;)

I've only been here for a week, and didn't do a lot aside from work yet.

It's not that I run to the nearest hill when I arrive somew... eeh... oh wait, I did that before, didn't I??

Hey Arie,

How are things over there! Now it's been long enough and we deserve some cool pictures! :D

Here in Utrecht it's been snowing and it's cold, but that's okay...

groetjes,
Chris
